Dr. BM Hegde  Articles  B. M. Hegde, also known as Belle Monappa Hegde, is a cardiologist, professor of medicine, and author. He was the Vice Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education from 1999 to 2003. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2010 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2021. He has supported homeopathy and quantum healing. Hegde is the author of several books on medical practice and ethics, including "What Doctors Don't Get to Study in Medical School," "You Can Be Healthy," and "Holistic Living." He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Science of Healing Outcomes. Hegde is a strong advocate for preventive medicine and has spoken out against the overuse of prescription drugs.
